Yeti Airlines aircraft ATR 72 crashes in Pokhara

On Sunday morning, a Yeti Airlines
ATR 72 that was on a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara wrecked in Pokhara's
Kaski area.
According to Sudarshan Bartaula, a representative for Yeti Airlines, the plane carrying 68 passengers and four crew members crashed between the old airport and the Pokhara International Airport.
There were 62 adults, three children, and three infants among the
passengers.
Premnath Thakur, general manager
of Tribhuvan International Airport, said that at 10:30 am, an airplane with the
number plate 9N-ANC departed from Kathmandu.
Social media posts revealed smoke plumes rising from
the accident location.
The
information is awaited. Rescue efforts are being carried out at the accident
scene by security officers and residents.
Following the incident, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal convened an urgent meeting of the Council of Ministers. The Home Ministry, security officers, and all other government agencies are to conduct urgent rescue and relief activities, under the prime minister's instructions.
