More than six people got killed in the Sudurpashchim earthquake
DHANGADHI, NOVEMBER 9
A 6.6 ML earthquake hit Doti district in the early hours of Wednesday, burying at least six people. The decedent was resident of Gairagaun, Purbichauki-3, as reported by the Doti District Police Office. They have been trapped beneath the rubble of residences that had crumbled during the quake that hit the location at 2:12 a.m. The credentials of the deceased have now been identified, with two women, two men, and two youths among them, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Kumar Bhatta.
The 6.6-magnitude earthquake, including its epicenter in Khaptad National Park, destroyed nearly ten residences. Fissures have appeared in the majority of the households as a result of the geological incident, according to authorities.
Furthermore, five individuals were harmed and are presently being treated at a municipal treatment center: Mahabir Bohara (45), Chanadevi Bohara (46), Bishna Devi Bohara (45), Innari Bohara (40), and Dhauli Bohara (11). Nepal Army, Nepal Police, local representatives, and villagers are all working together to undertake relief and rescue missions in the damaged area.
According to the National Seismological Center, a 5.7 earthquake (epicenter in Dipayal) had been confirmed in the region at 9:07 p.m., preceding the greater one that occurred afterward. Numerous aftershocks were experienced throughout the night following the two larger aftershocks.
Bajhang, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke, and Rukum west were all affected.
